Mangaluru: A 51-year-old man died when he was hit by a train at Jeppu Kudupadi here on February 9.
The deceased has been identified as Dinesh (51), a resident of Jeppu Bappal.
According to eyewitnesses, it is learnt that when Dinesh was crossing the open railway crossing at Jeppu Kudupadi to go home, he was hit by a train. Dinesh had almost crossed the track when the train hit his leg, While he was thrown away, his face hit the stone on the side of the track. Due to excessive bleeding Dinesh died on the spot.
The Railway police have registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem.
Dinesh is survived by wife Vinaya and son Nikhil. Dinesh was the auto driver by profession.
