Dr Antony Sylvan D’Souza, associate dean and vice principal of KMC Manipal, delivered the key note address. Explaining the need of body donation and to spread awareness among the people. He said that it is very vital in helping medical students to study body anatomy.

“Today, donors are mostly from only the Hindu community and not from the Christian community. We need to have more and more awareness programmes from every community about donating the body. By donating the body we can give life to many people. It is the need of the hour to bring awareness and UCA is an example. The UCA members have come forward to donate their bodies, so that they can live after they exist from this world”, he said. He congratulated UCA for their efforts in organizing a unique programme on the Independence day. He also stressed on the need to create awareness about donating organs and thereby saving lives.

Businessman and champion in blood donation, Louis J Pinto, who is also promoting blood donation in a big way, congratulated the efforts of UCA. Benedict Noronha, senior most donor, also spoke on the occasion. Robert Rosario read out the will / declaration of the donors.
