Mangaluru: The official transfer order of Police Commissioner S Murugan has been issued here on January 1.

By the order from the Governor of Karnataka, Under secretary to Government of Karnataka DP&AR Service Shivashanker Naik L issued the transfer order to 50 officers on January 1, 2016.

The transfer order of Police commissioner S Murugan has been issued on January 1, 2016 and M Chandra Sekhar IPS (KN 1998), DIGP and Joint Commissioner of Police Crimes Bengaluru City is promoted to officiate in the grade of Inspector General of Police with effect from 1 January 2016 and posted until further orders as IGP and Commissioner of Police Mangaluru City.

Police commissioner S Murugan had taken Charge on January 1, 2015. S Murugan, a native of Tamil Nadu, the official transfer order was received on January 1. Murugan is a 1997 batch IPS officer, he has won the President’s medal for his achievements.
