Mangaluru: ‘Choose to Make a Difference’ Charity Piano Concert Held

Mangaluru: “Choose to make a difference” was an exclusive charity piano concert being organized to raise funds to support a charity initiative called “Education for All” that is being run by Heba Abdulla. The cause is currently supporting Rotary Nava chetana English Medium School in Neermarga. The concert was held on the 26th of July at the Vajra Hall, Moti Mahal and performed by Heba Abdulla and Adam Abdulla.

The event started at 7:30 pm sharp with an introductory and welcome note from Yathish Baikampady, the president of Rotary Club of Mangalore. This was followed by a short presentation and video from Heba Abdulla who briefed the guests about the initiative, the progress so far and future plans of the cause.

The concert was opened with a duet by Heba and Adam called “Dreamy Beguine” by Dennis McCaldin. The concert then took off with each of them playing 2 sets of 4 pieces each that included a well balanced mix of Classical, Contemporary and Rock. It was journey through classics from Carl Phillip Emmanuel Bach, Ludvig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Peter Tchaikovsky, Adele, John Denver, Scorpions, Queen, Hans Zimmer, Philip Lane, Scott Joplin and Yiruma.

Included was also movie sound track from Fast and Furious 7, Pirates of the Caribbean and Ashiqui 2. The concert concluded with another beautiful duet called ‘Seascape’ by Louise Chamberlain. Heba delivered the vote of thanks.

It was a packed concert with close to 100 guests present at the event. The total funds raised at the event from guests attending and generous donors were close to Rupees 1.25 Lakhs after all expenses. This will all go towards providing computers and a printer to Rotary Navachethana English Medium School.

This program was conducted in association with the Rotary club of Mangalore and Gearhouse was the sponsor for light and sound.
