Speaking to the mediapersons, Vikram Nayak, an executive member of Citizen Council Mangalore Chapter, said, “The parliament has been disrupted due to the misdeeds of one family. Due to the disruption, a lot of tax-payers’ money is going to the drain.”

“We have spread awareness among the people through social networking platforms. The stoppage of parliamentary proceedings is a great loss for the country. The Indian Parliament is convened to take up important works of the nation and stoppage of parliamentary work adversely affects national interests. The winter session of the parliament is a session of great importance for the country,” he added.

However, the manner in which the Congress and opposition parties have created obstacles and difficulties in functioning of parliament shows least regard for national interests.

  1. During the UPA rule it was the BJP that disrupted parliament continously and did not allow them to pass crucial bills. When successive sessions were disrupted Sushma Swaraj, then leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, had declared that “not allowing Parliament to function is also a form of democracy, like any other form”. Did the citizens that are protesting now , protest then?.
