Mangaluru: Electric Pole Snapped into Two After High-Speed Bike Crash

Mangaluru: A high-speed motorcycle accident near Kinya in Ullal, Mangaluru, resulted in significant damage to public infrastructure on Monday. At approximately 5:00 PM, a motorcycle traveling at excessive speed reportedly careened out of control and collided with a roadside electric pole. The force of the impact caused the concrete pole to fracture and collapse onto the adjacent roadway.

Surveillance footage captured the incident, which has since circulated widely on social media platforms. The footage depicts the motorcycle impacting the pole with considerable force, resulting in its immediate structural failure.

The two occupants of the motorcycle, identified as students hailing from Vijayapura, were ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene, and the injured individuals were transported to a nearby private medical facility for treatment. Medical personnel have indicated that, despite the severity of the accident, both students are in stable condition, and their injuries are not life-threatening.

Local authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, with a focus on determining the precise factors that contributed to the loss of control of the motorcycle. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of reckless driving and the importance of adhering to posted speed limits and traffic regulations. The damage to the electric pole has resulted in localized power disruption, and repair crews are working to restore service to the affected area.
