Mangaluru: ‘Flood Lit Kreedothsava’ Displays Breathtaking Performances at Sharada vidyalaya

Mangaluru: The ‘Flood Lit Kreedothsava’ organized by Sharada Educational Institutions got off to a colorful start at Sharada Vidyalaya Grounds, Kodialbail here on 17 January.

The event was inaugurated by Vedamurthi Anantha Padmanaba Asranna (Hereditary Archak, Shree Kshethra Kateel), Sharavu Raghavendra Shastry (Managing Trustee, Shile Shile Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple, Mangaluru) along with other dignitaries present on the dais by lightning the traditional lamp, which was followed by a prayer by the students of the PU College.

Prof M B Puranik welcomed the gathering. This was followed by a procession of Lord Ganesha, the main attraction of it being the little ‘pili veshas’ that performed various stunts.

Sharavu Raghavendra Shastry in his speech, recalled a saying by his parents that ‘temples shouldn’t be there just for Pujas, they should also serve the society’. Addressing the students, he said that for studies you need power in your body and concentration in your mind. The Kreedothsava is a great way to achieve these and also to instill faith.

This was followed by a colorful dance ‘Jai Tulunadu’, a Yoga Demonstration that displayed the students ease of flexibility and another graceful dance ‘Chandra Chuda’ in which the students exhibited good co-ordination along with subtle yet vivid expressions.

The skating displayed by the students showed their fearless and flawless execution of moves in a short space as they moved through props on fire and performed other stunts. Students of the school also performed the ‘Malla Kamba’ that showed off their physical strength and dexterity in balance and yoga. There were other performances that showcased the talents of the students. The event received a huge applause from the crowd for all performances.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Moideen Bava and J R Lobo (MLAs), Ivan D’Souza (MLC), Mahabala Marla (Mayor), Prof P Ramakrishna Chadaga (Ex Director, Manipal Institute of Management) and others were present on the dais.
