Mangaluru: Girl Dies After Choking on Ludo Game Coin

Mangaluru: An eight-year-old girl reportedly died after choking on a plastic coin used in the Ludo game. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon at Kolya, near Thokkottu.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Tanushka, the eight-year-old daughter of Rajesh Gatti, originally from Madhur Uliyatadka in Kasaragod district.

The girl’s mother is a teacher at a school in Ullal. The family had been staying in a rented house at Kolya so that it would be easier for her to travel to work. On Saturday afternoon, Tanushka was reportedly playing Ludo with her brother and sister.

During the game, she accidentally swallowed a cone-shaped plastic coin used in Ludo. As she began to choke, her mother, with the help of neighbors, rushed her to a private hospital in Thokkottu. She was later shifted to another private hospital in Deralakatte for further treatment, but doctors there declared her brought dead on arrival.
