Mangaluru: Police Arrest Members of BJP Yuva Morcha for Protesting Without Permission

Mangaluru: The Pandeshwar police have arrested more than 30 members of the BJP Yuva Morcha for staging a protest near A B Shetty Circle without prior permission from the police here, on August 14.

BJP Yuva Morcha staged a protest against the district Youth Congress president Mithun Rai for hoisting the Youth Congress flag at Assaigoli. In regard to this, an advocate belonging to the BJP filed a case in the Konaje Police Station against Mithun Rai stating that his act is an insult to the national flag. But the BJP Yuva Morcha did not get permission to protest at A B Shetty Circle.

Protesters shouted slogans against Mithun Rai and demanded that action be taken against him for hoisting the Youth Congress flag on the flag post meant only to hoist the National flag.

The protesters were arrested by the Pandeshwar police. At the same time, the Youth Congress members met at the Nehru maidan and later submitted a memorandum to the Police Commissioner S Murugan in regard to filing a false complaint against Mithun Rai in the Konaje Police Station.
