Mangaluru: Police Arrest Shriram Yadapadithaya for Derogatory Comments against Christianity on FB

Mangaluru: The Bengaluru police have arrested Shriram Yadapadithaya in connection with derogatory comments published on a facebook page here, on March 4.

The president of the Konkani Sahitya Academy, Roy Castelino while participating in a protest in front of the DC Office announced that Yadapadithya was arrested in Bengaluru and brought to Mangaluru. He was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody.

“Yedapadithaya had commented “Christians should be slaughtered”. Such words are against the Indian Penal Code Section 144. Such words are an attempt to destroy peace and harmony in the society.”

“Under the IPC Section 295(A), (B) and Section 163 (A), (B), it is a heinous crime. Under the cyber crime laws, exchanging such comments or attempting to create enmity among people is also a crime.”

A case was registered against Shri Ram Yadapadithaya in the Pandeshwar Police Station.
