The Silver Jubilee of Shri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple will be celebrated on October 14, 15 and 16th. Poojary further said, “The chief minister of Karnataka said that the Mysuru Dasara will be celebrated in low profile and I was thinking of responding to him through this press meet. But today, the CM has changed his statement and decided to celebrate Dasara in a grand manner. In Mangaluru, we will celebrate Dasara in a grand manner on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the temple renovation.”

“We will also have a Brahmakalashotsava on October 16, to change the mindset of the people who are adamant in continuing the Yettinahole river diversion project. There is lack of rain this year and some ministers are busy in diverting the Yettinahole river. We will pray for good rains this year and by holding Brahmakalashotsava, God will surely bless us and there will be sufficient rain. We will pray for the ministers to change their mind and find a permanent solution to provide water for the people of Kolar, Chikkaballapur and Tumkur. We are all the children of God and there is only one God but the ways of devotion are different. When we pray with faith and trust, God will bless us abundantly.”

He also said that we need development in the state as well as in the country. “To develop tourism, we have to celebrate such festivals so that people can come from other states as well as from other countries. When tourists take part in such festivals, our economy will grow.”

Recalling the criticism from the people at the national and international levels for appointing women priests, especially Dalits in Kudroli temple, he replied that we are all children of God. “There is poverty in every community; even among Brahmins and GSB, there are people who are poor. Reservation should be given to all the poor people from all communities.”
