Mangaluru: An auto rickshaw fell into a gorge after hitting a car at Kenjar on May 22.
Speaking to mangalorean.com, the owner of the car, Rajesh Ramachandra, a resident of Kodikkal said, “I was on my way to the Mangalore International Airport to drop my friend who was supposed to fly to Bengaluru. When we reached Kenjar, an auto rickshaw travelling at a high speed, at Kenjar while trying to overtake my car at a curve lost balance, flipped and bounced on the bonnet of my car and later rolled down the gorge on the side of the road.”
He further said, “While the auto rickshaw was rolling down, the driver of the auto was thrown out. He managed to get hold of a branch of the tree and escaped with minor injuries. Later, I arranged another vehicle to send my friend to the airport. There were three of us in the car and luckily, all of us escaped unhurt.”
A case has been registered in the Suratkal Police Station.
