Mangaluru: School name encrypted on Medals given to 64th National-level Body Building Winners

Mangaluru: The 64th National-level Body Building and Fitness Championship – 2016’ concluded at the Nehru Maidan here on February 13.

The day-two programme began with a dance by the students of Permannur School. The finals were held in various categories and prizes were distributed by the guests to the winners.

The competitions went on well and the winners were given medals along with certificates. But sadly the medals were not upto the mark. The medals having the name of Sri Kumaran Children’s Public school encrypted on them with the sticker of the 64th National-level Body Building and Fitness Championship pasted was given to the winners.

Speaking to mangalorean.com third place winner of the category Bharat Udhay, Rupesh Jayawant Tribhuvane from Maharastra said that most of the contestants came from other states by spending money and after winning, the organizers did not give us the cash prizes. He also said, “The medal which I have received for winning third place in Bharat Udhay is also not in good condition. The sticker of 64th National-level Body Building and Fitness Championship came out revealing the name of some school encrypted on it.

When mangalorean.com asked the chairman of the SCABBA Ivan D’Souza about the poor quality of the medals given for a National event, he said, “The IFBF responsible for the medals”.
