Mangaluru: Several Injured in Service and Private Bus Collision at Kateel

Mangaluru: Several passengers were injured when a private bus collided head on into a private bus near Kateel Church on February 19.

The injured have been identified as private bus driver Manjunath, Student Vinitha, private bus passengers Gangadhar, Rajanna, Divya, Thimmakka, Kaveriyamma, Neeladhar Shetty Ekkar, Indira Kateel, Supiriya Bajpe, Mamatha Kateel, Kokila Kavoor, Ranuka Kateel, Sowmya, Harish Shanthamma, Jampakka, Gagan, Kariyamma and Chitthayya.

According to police, a group of 25 tourists from Thimmappa Swami Association, Tumkur were on a tour to Udupi and DK district. After visiting Durgaparameshwari temple in Kateel they were heading towards Dharmasthala. Near Kateel Church their bus collided head on into a service bus. More than 20 passengers including the bus driver were injured in the collision. All the injured have been admitted to the hospitals in Mangaluru and Kinnigoli.
