Mangaluru ‘TISA’ SHG For PwS, People Who Stammer, opens July 23
Mangaluru: The Indian Stammering Association (TISA) is launching its Mangaluru, Self Help Group (SHG) on 23rd July 2017. The inauguration and first meeting (9 am to 3 pm) will be held in the Library Hall of Fatima Retreat House, Jeppu – Mangalore. The venue is adjacent to the School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya. The Self-Help Group will convene regularly to allow people with stammering (PwS) to share their feelings, practice techniques, and develop confidence. Mangalore SHG is intended to become a community of stutterers guided by the Self-Help Philosophy of TISA.
Mangalore is home to many Educational Institutions and possesses a thriving student community. Considering the severe impact of stammering on young students and graduates, the TISA Mangalore Self Help Group will conduct workshops and activities to help them gain confidence and better handle their stammering.
