Mangaluru: Senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary held a press meet at the District Congress Office here, on September 16.

Addressing the mediapersons, Poojary commented on the statement made by former CM of Karnataka Veerappa Moily that the “people of the district where I was born have also diverted along with the project”. Poojary also said that when he saw the television in the evening, Moily had called for a meeting after reaching Bengaluru and said, “I had given the MP ticket to Poojary and made him an MP but now he too is diverted”.

Poojary further said, “Moily is acting like a Sathya Harishchandra of Kalyug. I am elder than Moily, in age and profession. I am his senior; when I was practicing, Moily joined the Law college. When I was practicing in Bantwal, Puttur, Beltangady and Mangaluru, I had many clients and in Karkala, when I was unable to attend cases, I used to give those cases to Moily. Being a minister, I hope Moily is very well aware of politics. Indira Gandhi was the chairperson of the Central Election Committee; she collected all the reports about me from the intelligence and had given me the ticket to contest the MP elections. After the election, Indira Gandhi gave me the post and not Moily.”

He also said, “I only said that Veerappa Moily and Sadananda Gowda should apologise with the people of Dakshina Kannada. Moily tells that he doesn’t lie but without lying Moily cannot live; I cannot live without truth and by speaking the truth, I have lost everything. Yettinahole is not a big river. We are not saying we will not provide water to Chikkaballapura and Kolar, but the state government and the Union government should discuss the issue by taking the people of DK to confidence before implementing any project which affects them. Why are the political leaders trying to destroy Mangaluru? For the project, the government is spending Rs 13,000 crores, which is tax payers money. If the government is really concerned about the people of Chikkaballapur and Kolar, let them take water from Kaveri, Mekedatu project, Godavari or Krishna River.”

“Moily and Sadananda Gowda are behind the vote bank. They have settled in Chikkaballapur and kept their family members safe over there. Now the people have taken to the streets. All the people from the Panchayat, Taluk level, MPs and MLAskeeping aside their party differences should join hands to drop this project. Poojary may live or die, but the people of DK need water, and it is everyone’s duty to work hard to drop the project.”

“There is still time to stop this project; if all join hands and protest against the project, the project will not be successful.” He urged the people of DK not to call for any bandh or block the roads because people will face problems, and instead organise peaceful protest and find a solution.

When asked about his stand on the Yettinahole project, Poojary said, “I will not join the protest but through media, I will extend my support to the protest. The pen is mightier than the sword and media can bring changes; today, the media is also against the project. The news of the Yettinahole project should reach Modi.”

Harikrishna Bantwal, deputy mayor Purushotham, Arun Coelho, former mayor Mahabala Marla and others were also present.

Why can’t our Joker Rampu take a semester of lessons from his western master called George Bush’aa? After all, I doubt if there has ever been a MORE entertaining joker than Bush’aa in the history of Yumreeka. Just take a look at his best:

Arre Rampa, Bravo! I’m glad that you responded to a Joke with ANOTHER joke. That definitely shows that you are learning – slowly but surely!

You see, I was just POINTING OUT out some great jokes of ‘Busha’ and you cracked another GREAT ONE about my ಯೂಮ್‌ರೀಕಿ ವೀಸಾ. This is exactly what they call – ಟಿಟ್ ಫೋರ್ ಟ್ಯಾಟ್!

  2. Two obsolete leaders of Cong I are publicly blaming each other. Poojary is fighting ‘asthithvakkagi horata’. Moily is doing the same for the Chikkaballapur people to support him next time around. Poojary is more honest but naive. Moily is just crafty and cunning as usual. Soner these two accept their political retirement, better for the state and the district.

Oh well, I guess those 2 silly fellows playing the blame game is MUCH better than Advani looking for the future ಮಾರ್ಗ as a ಮಾರ್ಗ ದರ್ಶಕ! A mere MUTE spectator.. and that too – the ಚಡ್ಡಿ ಬಳಗ dictates such a fate to THE fellow who had SO MUCH to do with the rise of the BJP!

And O’Lord Nelson Mandu, I bet you must have read the novel – The Gestapo’ – authored by Rupert Butler!

I wonder what has happened to our Mango Man from Jimboo! And our ‘HIT BULL by HORN’ friend from…. ummm.. Sharjah….. Kazakhstan… Uzbekistan… Luanda( Angola – temp is 22 deg… humidity 90%.. feels like awwww……Mumbai… wherever he is now.

      Smiles..

        -Praveen

Rise of the BJP? What are you talking about Praveen? Why don’t you say ‘fall of Cong I’ which is perceived as rise of BJP?
