Mangaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party staged a protest against the state government for their alleged new scheme “Kattale Baghya”, in front of the MESCOM office here, on September 22.

Addressing the protesters, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the state has been set on fire through the Kalasa Banduri project in Uttara Kannada and through the Yettinahole river diversion project in Dakshina Kannada. “Siddaramaiah says that he has brought Anna Bhagya, Khseera Bhagya and various schemes. Now, through “Kattale Bhagya”, he has given an opportunity to Kanna Bhagya scheme and helped the looters in looting the people.”

He further said that when Yeddyurappa was the chief minister, when there was a power crisis. The power minister Shobha Karandlaje along with the CM held talks with the Gujarat government and brought power to Karnataka giving 24×7 power supply. But the state government led by Siddaramaiah has purposely created problems for the people to blame Narendra Modi, he alleged.

He also said that even when Karnataka is facing a major power crisis, no measures have been taken to solve the problem. “The Dasara festival is nearing, children have their exams in the coming days but the government has not taken any measures. Power minister D K Shivkumar should have already taken measures but he has not done anything to solve the problem. He should not blame others for the power crisis. If he cannot solve the problems of the people, let him resign from the post and go home.”

“The Yettinahole project has been implemented in a hurry and the government has played with the sentiments of the people of DK. There are 7 MLAs and ministers in DK. If they have the guts, let them resign from their post and fight against the Yettinahole river diversion project from being continued. We will also support them.”

“BJP leader Ravishanker Mizar said that there was a weather forecast in May stating less rainfall in DK in 2015. According to that, in the month of September there was no rainfall and this has caused a number of problems including scarcity of water for farmers and the power crisis. There is no proper co-ordination between the MLAs and ministers. If in the month of September, there is 4 hours of power cut in DK, what will be the situation in the coming months? Only 7000 MW of power is being produced in Karnataka and this is not enough to solve the problems of the people of Karnataka. If immediate measures are not taken to address the power issues, in the coming days DK will face severe power crisis. When Shobha Karandlaje was in power, she had held discussions with concerned authorities and provided uninterrupted power supply to DK,” he added.

Monappa Bhandary addressing the protesters said that the Congress government came to power by promising 24×7 power supply but now the same government is cheating the people of Karnataka by giving them the “Kattale Bhagya” scheme. “In this regard, the BJP has staged a statewide protest against the state government for three days. The entire state is in dark. There is no power in offices, students cannot do their revision for examinations and farmers do not have power for cultivation. Instead of solving the power crisis in the state, the ministers blame each other. If the power minister cannot solve the problem, then let him resign from the post along with all the other leaders. We will have re-elections. There are a number of problems in the state. The chief minister should not close his eyes for a second in such a situation. But our CM always sleeps. Senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary should join BJP because he has realized that the Congress is fooling people. He is not fit to be in the Congress; earlier he was talking against the BJP, but now he believes in Dharma.”

“Siddaramaiah is the main cause for all the problems, he should resign from the post. He brought all kind of Bhagya’s in Karnataka and now he has brought the “Kattale Bhagya”, putting all the people of Karnataka in the dark. In the month of September itself if we face power crisis, what will happen in April and May?” he questioned.

Jayaram Bhat, Chandrahas Uchil, Roopa D Bangera, Satishchandra Shetty, Keshav Rai and others were also present.

  1. Dear Nalina Kumaara and other unknowns standing next to him,
The politics of agitation shouldn’t be the only thing to focus on. Please ask yourself what have you done to implement Sir Modiji’s swachcha bhaaratha and many other policies. Do you even remember what state BJP did when they were in power? If you don’t focus on good governance and delivering results, you will be no different from corrupt Congress party!!

    • Please ask yourself what have you done to implement Sir Modiji’s swachcha bhaaratha and many other policies. – ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ರಾಂಪ

“Sir Modiji”? WHEN and how exactly did you Knight him? And in what capacity?

      I’m LMAO Sir Rampa’ji! 🙂

Some ಪ್ರವಾದಿ who dumped his dumpling and did some ಕಾಡು ಜೀವಿತಂ delivers a catchy slogan conjured-up by his PR/IT team! Grabs hold of a ಸರೋನ್ (a simple broom ya Rampu) and is pasted all over TV for a month or two since 24 May 2014! AND….. ಮತ್ತೆ .. pinne… baadein… magir….. ಬೊಕ್ಕ … aur…… AND what happened ya Sir Rampu’ji?

THE pravaadi runs off to places .. dons some monogrammed megalomaniac-worthy threads… and delivers some speeches. Goes off to Mongolia too! Allows them to borrow 1 billion USD…sobs and says that Indians RAN away to ವೆಸ್ಟೆರ್ನ್ ಫೋರೀನ್ because they were ASHAMED to be born in India. (Psst… no mention of the word Akhanda Bharatha). Hahahhaha

All rise…. Sir Lord Rampu has SPOKEN! 🙂

Is it? What has happened to their generator? Why no current now?

Is it? What has happened to their generator? Why no current now? – Mr. BN Pai

Hahahahahaha! That is the million $ question to ask, Mr. BN Pai. I’m told by the KEB that the generator (an outdated American make) needs some spares. Moreover, since their budget is woefully inadequate they do not have money to procure it…. let alone courier it.

However nothing to worry. Our ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಸೇವಕ is currently in ಯಮ್ರೀಕ. Using his superior persuasive and negotiation skills, I’m sure that he will wangle such a fine deal that the whole of ಅಖಂಡ ಭಾರತ let alone ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ will be lit up like a Xmas tree 24 x 7 x 365!

All we need to do is just wait till he ‘Superman’ returns! 🙂

    • “When Yeddyurappa and Shobha were in power, there was 27 x 7 electricity supply,” as M.P. Nalin.

Well the M.P. has to realize that without light it is not possible,

  3. what the hell he is talking….. let him ask Shoba and yedii why did they contest MP seat instead of MLA ! you do your job to your home town what required , that’s why people voted ? you are not working for private limited co? keep in that mind

  4. When Yeddyurappa and Shobha were in Power, there was 24X7 Electricity Supply – MP Nalin

    Dear readers,

Is it possible for the MP Nalin to put the figures in numbers in terms of MW added to the grid, when the BJP is a coalition partner with JD(U) since 2004 and in ruling for 2008 to 2012?

While Former power minister Shobha is still sitting members of parliament and B. S. Yeddyurappa currently national vice-president of BJP.Why can’t they influence PM Modi to invest more in power sector in Karnataka to cover the shortfall?

Why does Chief Minister should be blamed for deficit in shortfall in rainfall which is largely depend upon Hydro electric?

Why does MP Nalin failed to raise the issue parliament during ‘Zero’ hours?

    Jai Hind
