Manipal Police nab 6 students for Consuming Drugs

Manipal: The Manipal Police have booked 6 cases against the students of a private institution. District Superintendent of Police Dr Sanjeev Patil who has initiated the crackdown on the drug menace in the district has directed the police officials of the district to act stiff on the drug menace reported in their respective jurisdiction.

A Malaysian National who is an intern in Physiotherapy and 5 other students were arrested by the Manipal Police.

Police sources close to mangalorean.com said that the crackdown on the drug menace will be further intensified and the masterminds leading students to the drugs will be also booked.

  1. Are these students not adults? If so, any adult should be able to do whatever he wants in his privacy as long as it doesn’t infringe others rights and cause any property damage. I wish our police could focus more on real culprits like MLAs/MPs and other public officials who steal tax resources to the tune of millions. They are damaging our society much more than a few adults getting high on drugs at their privacy.

  2. Why the police does not catch the drug suppliers and their kingpins?
    Police won’t do it because they get *****. Catching the consumers is just a eye wash for publicity.
