Manipal Resident Dies of Electrocution While Plucking Mangoes
Manipal: On Friday, April 24th, a tragic incident near the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Manipal resulted in the death of Sadananda Devadiga, a 55-year-old resident of Alevoor, who was electrocuted while plucking mangoes.
Devadiga worked as a village assistant. He touched a live electric wire while picking mangoes behind the DC office in the morning. He died immediately.
Local authorities were promptly notified, and a case has been officially registered at the Manipal Police Station. Law enforcement officials are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Upon receiving news of the tragedy, Fire and Emergency Services personnel swiftly arrived at the location to assist. They were instrumental in carefully moving Devadiga’s body from the scene. Social worker Nithyananda Olakadu was also present, offering support during the difficult recovery process.
