‘May every obstacle be removed by Ganpati Bappa’s grace’: CM Yogi extends greetings on Ganesh Chaturthi

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday extended his greetings and best wishes to devotees and people across the state on Ganesh Chaturthi, praying for happiness, prosperity, and the fulfilment of their aspirations.

Taking to social media platform X, CM Yogi said, “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all devotees and the people of the state on the sacred festival of worship of Lord Shri Ganesh, the remover of obstacles and the harbinger of auspiciousness, ‘Shri Ganesh Chaturthi’. May every obstacle be removed by the grace of Ganpati Bappa, every resolve be fulfilled, and every life overflow with happiness, prosperity, and auspiciousness—this is the prayer.”

“Ganpati Bappa Moriya,” he added.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also extended his greetings to people on the auspicious occasion.

Gadkari posted on X, “Heartfelt wishes on the auspicious festival of Shri Ganesh Chaturthi. May the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the deity of wisdom and intellect, always remain upon everyone. Ganpati Bappa Morya!”

Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha, the deity associated with wisdom, prosperity and new beginnings. The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm across India, particularly in Maharashtra.

The celebrations involve bringing beautifully crafted Ganesha idols into homes and public pandals, where devotees offer prayers, sweets and flowers and take part in various cultural programmes and festivities.

The celebrations traditionally conclude with Anant Chaturdashi, when devotees carry Ganesha idols in processions before immersing them in water. The immersion symbolises Lord Ganesha’s return to his celestial abode.

This year, Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated on September 14 (Monday), marking the beginning of the festive period dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The celebrations will culminate in Anant Chaturdashi on September 25, when devotees traditionally bid farewell to the deity through immersion processions.
