Minister Rai pays Tribute to Dr Ambedkar on 61st Death Anniversary

Mangaluru: The district minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai paid tribute by garlanding the statue of the Father of Indian Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar on his 61st death anniversary at the Town Hall premises here on December 6.

Addressing the mediapersons Minister Ramanath Rai said, “Dr Ambedkar worked for the voiceless and constructed a virtual bridge between all classes in the society. Dr Ambedkar introduced reservation for SC/ST in government jobs, education and civil services. We are not trying to understand the problems the Dalits are facing. When the Dalits are denied their rights they express their pain which we should understand.”

Minister Rai further said, “Today we are observing the 61st death anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar. As we are moving further we have failed to remember our past. We need to remember the sacrifices and efforts of our elders that we are enjoying today.”

DC Sasikanth Senthil, Police Commissioner T R Suresh and ADC Kumar also garlanded the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar.
