MLA Vedavyas Kamath & Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Mayor Diwakar Pandeshwar Inaugurate Urban Health Centre, near Old Port, Bunder-Mangaluru Costing Rs 45 Lakhs, on Friday, 18 September.
Mangaluru: From a tiny Urban Health Centre which was running for many years, finally a brand new 153.65 sq mt two-storied Úrban Health Centre’, which is part of District Wenlock Hospital, was inaugurated by cutting the ribbon and lighting the traditional lamp on Friday, 18 September 2020 near Old Port, Bunder- Mangaluru by MLA Mangaluru South Constituency Vedavyas Kamath, along with MCC Mayor Diwakar Pandeshwar, joined by Mrs Rameeza Nazeer-Ex-corporator of Bunder ward; Wenlock DHO Dr Ramachandra B; Reproduction and Child Welfare Officer Dr Rajesh; President of Bunder Merchants Association Nazeer Bunder, various ward corporators, among many other officials.
This brand new Urban Healthy Centre costing around Rs 45 lakhs will comprise of- Laboratory, Pharmacy, Injection Room, Dressing Room, Air/Deep Freezer, Store Room, Gents/Ladies Toilet, among other facilities. A 5,000-litre water storage tank is also provided on the lower level of the building. This centre was completed within 12 months by M/s KVR Construction, Bengaluru, following all the required standards and systematically. Dr Chandra Prabha, will be the main person in-charge of this centre, and will be available for consultation between 8.30 am -4 pm, and evening shift from 4 pm-8 pm will be handled by doctors from various hospitals.
Speaking after the inauguration of the Centre, MLA Vedavyas Kamath said, “It’s nice to note that this centre is completed in time since earlier the services were provided at a smaller centre, which was very uncomfortable and patients were facing hard times. This centre will take care of the residents from seven wards, to name a few- Bunder ward, Kodialbail ward, Kadri Kambala ward, Central market ward, Court road ward, Dongerekere, among others. People should utilize the benefits of this centre. My humble request for the staff at this centre, to serve the people with a smile, showing courteousness, friendliness and commitment. Yet another such Centre will be built soon to facilitate citizens of other wards”.
