Mithun Rai Wave in District, Manifesto Favouring Poor to be Released Soon – Ivan D’Souza
Mangaluru: “There is a Mithun Rai wave in the Dakshina Kannada district. On March 25, Mithun Rai had filed his nomination and the youth had gathered in large numbers. We will surely win the elections. Now the District Manifesto is being prepared under the leadership of Ramanath Rai and it will be released soon. PM Modi fooled the people saying that he would credit Rs 15 lakh to the account of every citizen but so far none of his assurances have been fulfilled. We will pay Rs 6000 per month to every family below the poverty line. Through ‘Nunyatham Ayi Yojana’, those who earn less Rs 5000 per month will be given Rs 6000 by the government,” said MLC Ivan D’Souza in a press meet held at the DCC office here on March 26.
Addressing the mediapersons Ivan D’Souza said, “We are trying to eliminate poverty, already many schemes like the anna bhagya, motte bhagya, Ksheera Bhagya etc have been implemented. But the BJP government did not fulfil any of its assurances. Congress is committed to fulfill its assurances, our party is committed to working for the poor. We have implemented the Right for Free and Compulsory Education Act for children and also the Food Security Act. In the Central government, 33% of jobs will be reserved only for women. Even in politics, 33% is reserved for women. We are talking about unemployment and poverty, these are the high priority sectors. Our party is committed to eliminate poverty and create jobs. The GST will be reduced from 28% to 18%.”
