MUKA General Body Meeting 2026 – Deepak Alvares Elected as New President

The Mangalorean United Konkani Association (MUKA), Nottingham, UK, held its General Body Meeting on Sunday, 12 April 2026. The event began with a Thanksgiving Mass at St. Teresa’s Church, followed by the meeting at St. Thomas More Hall.

A key highlight of the gathering was the successful formation of the new committee for the 2026–2028 term. Following nominations and active member participation, the newly elected committee is as follows:

President: Deepak Alvares
Vice-President: Arvin D’Souza
Secretary: Preetam D’Almeida
Treasurer: Anson Dias
Liturgy Coordinator: Stany Sequeira
Sports Secretary: Godfrey Sequeira
Cultural Secretary: Reshma Rodrigues
Communication Coordinator: Sachin Fernandes
Youth Representative: Hailey Fernandes

Additional Committee Members:
Wilfred Rodrigues, Nikitha Fernandes, Avila Mendonza, Olivia Dias, Lancy D’Souza, Naveen Lobo, Edward Joy Rodrigues, and Shalini Pinto.

The outgoing President, Godfrey Sequeira, expressed his gratitude and reflected on his tenure. Members also shared valuable feedback and suggestions for future initiatives.

The incoming President, Deepak Alvares, addressed the committee and members, promising to work for the betterment of MUKA and carry forward its legacy.

MUKA extends its congratulations to the newly formed committee and looks forward to their leadership in continuing to strengthen community engagement and cultural activities over the coming term.
