‘Muller Path 2025’ concludes with great appraisal: National Pathology Training Workshop
Mangalore: The Department of Pathology at Father Muller Medical College successfully hosted the 6th Annual National Pathology Postgraduate Training Workshop, “Muller Path 2025 – A Tryst with Exams”, from June 15 to 19, 2025, at the Knowledge Centre Hall, Decennial Memorial Building.
The workshop witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 66 postgraduate students from medical institutions nationwide. Designed to enhance diagnostic skills, the event offered a comprehensive blend of expert-led lectures, case-based discussions, and hands-on learning experiences.
Over the course of five days, participants were exposed to an extensive curriculum covering core areas of pathology, including autopsy techniques, hematology, cytology, immunohistochemistry, blood banking, and systemic pathology. All sessions were conducted by experienced faculty members from the host institution. To support continued learning beyond the workshop, delegates were also granted exclusive post-event access to digital whole slide images (WSI).
The workshop was formally inaugurated on 16 June 2025 in the presence of distinguished dignitaries:
Rev. Fr. Richard Aloysius Coelho, then Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), voiced his appreciation to the organizers that what began in 2019 as an initiative by the former HOD Prof Dr Hilda D’Souza has grown in scale with participants seeking registrations immediately. He congratulated the Dept. Pathology in continuing this expertise-oriented workshop that, from this learnings, better pathologists are born, and many patients benefit.
Rev. Fr. Ajith B. Menezes, Administrator, Father Muller Medical College, and Dr. Antony Sylvan D’Souza, Dean, Father Muller Medical College, were part of the inaugural.
The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Umashankar T, Organising Chairperson. The event was meticulously coordinated by the organising committee, which included: Dr. Umashankar T – Organising Chairperson, Dr. Hilda D’Souza – Co-Chairperson, Dr. Crysle Saldanha – Organising Secretary, Dr. Christina Goveas – Joint Organising Secretary and Dr. Archana Bhat – Treasurer. Their efforts were supported by dedicated sub-committees managing the scientific program, registration, logistics, and hospitality.
The workshop concluded on 19 June with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Crysle Saldanha, who acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the faculty, staff, and participants in making the event a resounding success.
Muller Path 2025 once again demonstrated Father Muller Medical College’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and its continued leadership in postgraduate pathology education.
