Mumbai: Harshita Harish Shetty, daughter of Harish Shetty of Doddamane in Panjimaru of Shirva in Udupi taluk and Varija Harish Shetty of Tattur of Kabyadi, has scored 199 out of 200 marks in the common entrance test held for Maharashtra health science (medical) category on May 7, thereby standing first in the state.

Harish Shetty is a well-established restaurateur in Pune and the family resides in Dhankawadi on the southern side of the city.

Among the total number of 1,89,050 students who had appeared for the CET from all over the state, Harshita has scored 50 in Physics, 50 in Chemistry, 50 in Biology and 99 in Mathematics, aggregating to 199.

Harshita is a student of Fergusson College in Pune. In the HSC examinations last year, she had scored 96.77% marks and stood second in the college. Even there she had scored 99 in Mathematics, 99 in Physics and 99 in Biology. Earlier in SSC examination she had scored 97% marks.

She was confident of having done well in the CET but had not expected the very first place in entire Maharashtra. She had made very dedicated preparations for two months before the test. During the pre-degree studies, she had made it a routine to revise the lessons for two or three hours after classes every day.

The result has brought her immense happiness to her and also to her parents, according to her. She credits her success to her hard work, support from the teaching staff and her parents and also to tuitions from Deodhar classes.

She is a step closer to her dream of becoming a doctor. Here’s wishing her all further success.
