Muslim Central Committee all set to hold Mass Protest Meet on Jan 15 against CAA & NRC

Mangaluru: “The Muslim Central Committee is all set to hold a mass protest meet against the CAA, NRC and NPR at the Shah Grounds, Kannur, Adyar on January 15. More than 1 lakh people are expected to take part in the protest. The protest meeting will start at 2:30 pm and end by 6:00 pm. Protesters will hold the national flag and placards provided by the Muslim Central committee. Women and children are not allowed to take part in the protest meet”, said the president of the Muslim Central Committee K S Mohammed Masood in a press meet held at Hotel Ocean Pearl here on January 13.

Addressing the mediapersons Masood said, “Retired IAS officers Harsh Mandar and Kannan Gopinathan from We the People of India organization, Retired judge Gopal Gowda, Human rights activist Shivasundar, Advocate Sudheer Kumar Maroli will be the speakers”.

Masood further said, “The Qazi of Udupi Al-Haj Bekal Ibrahim Musliyar, Dakshina Kannada Qazi Al-Haj Twaqa Ahmed Musliyar, Ullal Qazi Sayyed Fazal Koyamma Thangal, Wakf president U K Monu, Sri Sri Sri Jnanaprakash Swamiji from Huri Linga Peddimatha Mysuru, Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, President of Catholic Sabha Rolphy Crasta, former minister U T Khader, former MLA Moideen Bava, MLC B M Farooq, Dr Abdul Rasheed Zainy, U K Abdul Aziz Darimi, Mohammed Kunhi, Mohammed Shakib, M G Mohammed, Rafiuddin Kudroli and B K Imtiyaz will be the chief guests”.

Masood also said, “All the arrangements have been made for the protest meet. The police commissioner, IGP and the ADGP have rendered their support and also requested us to hold the protest meet peacefully. We have assured them of holding the protest meet peacefully. During the protest meeting, the speakers will explain about the CAA and NRC. I oppose CAA because I am an Indian by birth, I am not ready to go to Pakistan. I was born in 1936. When I was 10 years old during the freedom struggle, in Karkala I had pelted stones and was arrested and sent to jail for a day. People from all the communities have fought for the freedom of our country. This is not a Hindu or Muslim Country, those who are born in India have the right to live in this country. We will live and die in our country.”

Kodijal Ibrahim, B M Mumtaz Ali, Sayyed Ahmed Basha Thangal and Mansoor Ahmed Azad were also present.
