Muslim Central Committee Gets Permission to Hold awareness programme on CAA, NRC & at NPR at Adyar

Mangaluru: The Muslim Central Committee will be holding an awareness programme on CAA, NRC and NPR in front of the Central Juma Masjid at Adyar Kannur on January 15. The police commissioner has assured all the necessary support to hold the convention at Adyar. The Qazis from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi will take part in the convention. Religious leaders from other religions and intellectuals will also take part in the convention”, said the President of the Muslim Central Committee K S Mohammed Masood in a press meet held at Hotel Ocean Pearl here on January 8.

Addressing the mediapersons Masood said, “During the convention, we will use only the national flag. No party flag or religious flags will be used. We have formed various committees such as Legal, Welfare, health committees for the smooth conduct of the convention. We are expecting a gathering of more than one lakh for the convention. Eight speakers will speak on CAA, NRC and NPR”.

Addressing the mediapersons Vice President of Mangalore Central Committee Mumtaz Ali said, From many days we were trying to get permission to hold our convention to bring awareness on CAA, NRC, and NPR at Nehru Maidan. But we did not get permission to hold it at Nehru Maidan for some reason. Now we have decided to hold the convention at Kannur, Adyar near the Juma Masjid. Today we have got permission from the police department. Twenty-seven organizations will join hands to hold this convention. We have very good parking facilities at the venue. The programme will begin at 2:30 PM and will end before 6:00 pm.”

Secretary of Karnataka Muslim Zamat Abdul Rasheed Zainy said, “We are bringing awareness among the people about the pros and cons of CAA and NRC which will affect the people of this country. We demand the Central government to withdraw this act. We need to join hands to safeguard our constitution.”

The Muslim Central Committee leaders Ibrahim Kodijal, C Mahamood, Ahamed Bhasha, Imtiyaz Karkala, Moosa Moideen, Muhammed Haneef, S M Rasheed, Kasim H K, Abdul Rasheed, Sadakathullah Faizy, Yaqoob Sahadi, Abdul Rehman, Mansoor Ahmed Azad, Rouf Puttige. Yusuf, Sheriff K M, Shahul Hameed, A K Ashraf, Ameer Thumbay, Saif Sultan, Nazim, Moideen Monu, B M Mohammed Haneef, B S Imtiyaz, Ummar Farooq, S M Basha, C M Mustafa, Razik, Maqbool, Ahmed Bava Bajal, Riyazuddin, Mustafa Kempi and Addu were also present.
