New ‘Bharath Jodo’ logo unveiled; Karnataka CM Shivakumar calls it symbol of unity
Bengaluru: The new logo of the Karnataka government’s ‘Bharath Jodo’ initiative, aimed at bringing young people together and promoting unity, social harmony and responsible citizenship, was unveiled on Friday by Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara, while Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar described the new identity as a symbol of the collective aspirations and spirit of unity of people of the state.
The logo was selected through a public participation process that received 255 entries from across the state.
The initiative was launched to create a distinctive visual identity for the programme, which seeks to encourage youth participation in nation-building and promote responsible citizenship.
The Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath was entrusted with scrutinising and evaluating the submitted designs to ensure a transparent, fair and professional selection process.
Following a detailed evaluation, two designs were shortlisted and presented to Deputy Chief Minister Parameshwara for final approval.
The key elements and concepts from the two shortlisted designs were creatively combined to create the final logo, giving the Bharath Jodo initiative a distinctive and meaningful visual identity.
Parameshwara, who also holds the Sports portfolio, officially unveiled the logo, marking a significant milestone in the rollout of the programme across Karnataka.
The new logo represents the core objectives of Bharath Jodo, including unity, togetherness, youth engagement and the collective strength of the people of Karnataka.
Reacting to the launch, CM Shivakumar said the logo was more than just a visual symbol and represented the hopes, aspirations and spirit of the people.
Sharing the announcement on social media platform X on Friday, the Chief Minister said the final identity had emerged from a public participation process and incorporated ideas from the shortlisted designs.
“Bharath Jodo begins its journey across Karnataka with a new identity — one that belongs to all of us,” Shivakumar added.
He said that the initiative was envisioned as a flagship programme to bring young people together, nurture responsible citizenship and inspire active participation in nation-building.
The Chief Minister added that the public participation in the logo design process had helped create an identity that reflected collective ideas and the spirit of togetherness.
