New Year Celebrations–2026: Strict Action for Rule Violations, Police Warn

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Police have issued a firm warning to event organizers and the general public, emphasizing the stringent enforcement of guidelines during the upcoming New Year 2026 celebrations. Police

Commissioner Sudhir Kumar Reddy stated that strict legal action would be taken against any violations of established rules and regulations.
Commissioner Reddy emphasized that no public celebrations of any nature will be permitted without obtaining prior authorization from the relevant authorities. The police department has urged citizens to celebrate responsibly, with due consideration for public order and safety, ensuring that their celebrations do not cause disruption, inconvenience, or harassment to other members of the community.

The police have specifically cautioned against public nuisance offences, including but not limited to speeding, reckless driving, and any form of obscene or indecent behaviour. Any individual found engaging in such misconduct during the New Year festivities will face severe legal consequences.

To maintain law and order and ensure public safety during the celebrations, the Mangaluru City Police have implemented comprehensive security measures throughout the city. These measures include the deployment of Police Control Room (PCR) vehicles, highway patrol units, strategically positioned picket points, and established check posts. Round-the-clock patrol duties will be carried out by dedicated officers and staff. Additionally, Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSARP) platoons, Fire and Emergency Services (FAF) units, and City Armed Reserve (CAR) platoons have been strategically deployed in sensitive areas to provide enhanced security coverage.

The police department has urged the public to report any emergencies or complaints promptly by dialing 112. If the 112 emergency number is unreachable, citizens are advised to contact the Mangaluru City Police Control Room directly at 0824-2220800 or 9480802321. These contact details were provided by Police Commissioner Sudhir Kumar Reddy in an official press release, underscoring the department’s commitment to ensuring a safe and secure New Year celebration for all residents of Mangaluru.
