Ninth-Day Novena to the Blessed Virgin Mary Culminates at Bethlehem Star
Mangaluru: The nine-day Novena to the Blessed Virgin Mary culminated with great devotion and spiritual fervour at Bethlehem Star, Saripalla here, on September 7, as devotees gathered to honour Mother Mary and seek her blessings.
Members of St Antony Ward gathered in large numbers at Bethlehem Star to offer flowers to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The atmosphere was filled with prayer, devotion, and joyful singing as families, elders, and children participated in the concluding day of the Novena.
The Ninth-Day Novena began with a reading from the Holy Bible, followed by prayers seeking Mother Mary’s intercession and blessings. The hymn “Sokkad Sangatha Melya” was then sung, creating a deeply prayerful atmosphere. Devotees lovingly offered flowers at Mother Mary’s feet as an expression of their faith, gratitude, and devotion.
The faithful also joined in singing “Moriyek Hogolsiya” while offering flowers to Mumma Mary. The beautiful hymns and heartfelt prayers added to the spiritual atmosphere and reflected the community’s deep Marian devotion.
The concluding day also provided an opportunity for the members of St Antony Ward to come together in fellowship and gratitude. The faithful thanked the Blessed Virgin Mary for her maternal care, guidance, and blessings throughout the Novena and prayed for the well-being, peace, and prosperity of their families and the community.
Following the prayers, cake, vorn, ice cream, and sweets were distributed among those present. The gathering concluded on a joyful note, with devotees sharing fellowship and cherishing the blessings received through the nine days of prayer and devotion.
The culmination of the Novena was a beautiful testimony to the faith, unity, and devotion of the community, with everyone seeking the continued protection and intercession of Mumma Mary in their lives.
