No Fire, Just Flavour: KMC Hospital to Host World Heart Day ‘Cold Cooking Contest’
Mangaluru: KMC Hospital will organise a fun and healthy cold cooking competition, ‘Let’s Cook Up a Storm While Keeping the Flames Off,’ to mark World Heart Day.
The event will be held on Saturday, September 26, at 3.30 p.m. at Marena Sports Complex, Kaprigudda, Attavar, Mangaluru.
The competition aims to encourage participants to prepare tasty and heart-healthy dishes without using fire or heat. Teams of up to three members will have 60 minutes to prepare a maximum of two vegetarian dishes and one beverage.
Participants must bring their own ingredients. Processed or partially cooked ingredients will not be permitted. Power points will be provided for electrical appliances, and participants are requested to bring their own blender or mixer, if required.
The dishes will be judged on taste, presentation and nutritional value, with an emphasis on promoting healthier food choices for cardiovascular health.
Speaking about the initiative, Pramod Kunder, Cluster Director, Manipal Hospitals, said, “Healthy eating does not have to be complicated or boring. Through this competition, we want to bring people together and show that simple ingredients can be turned into enjoyable, heart-healthy food. World Heart Day is a good opportunity to think about the everyday choices that support heart health, and we invite families, friends, and food enthusiasts to join us for a fun experience.”

The organisers said the event is intended to combine creativity, food and friendly competition while encouraging participants to explore simple ways of incorporating heart-healthy choices into their everyday meals.
