Notorious Inter-District Burglar Arrested in Shirva

Notorious Inter-District Burglar Arrested in Shirva

Shirva: The Shirva police have apprehended a notorious inter-district thief who broke into a house and stole gold ornaments while the residents were asleep.

The accused, identified as Aboobacker alias Abdul Khader alias Itte Barpe Aboobacker, was arrested under the guidance of Udupi District Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar.

The theft occurred on the night of June 27 at the residence of Mrs. Pavitra Poojarthi near Mattaru Road in Shirva village. The thief broke the window hooks and stole approximately 137 grams of gold ornaments valued at around Rs 12,75,000.

Circle Inspector of Kaup, Jayashree S. Mane, led the investigation team, which included Sub-Inspector Manjunath Marabada and other officers. The team traced and arrested Aboobacker, recovering 66.760 grams of gold ornaments and the Jupiter scooter used to commit the crime. The total value of the recovered items is around Rs 7,00,000.

Aboobacker has over 30 theft cases registered against him in various police stations.

The operation involved a team of officers, including Jayashree S. Mane, Manjunath Marabada, Lohith Kumar S., Anil Kumar T. Naik, Mahesh T.M., and other staff members.
