Officer gets warning for wearing sunglasses while meeting PM

Raipur (PTI): Chhattisgarh IAS officer Amit Kataria, who wore a blue striped shirt and sunglasses while receiving Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week, has got a stern warning from the state government for violation of dress code and protocol.

In a warning letter issued to Kataria, a 2004 batch IAS officer who is Collector of Jagdalpur, the state government said while receiving the Prime Minister on May nine “it has come to notice that you were not wearing a proper dress and had also put on sunglasses”.

The letter said that it was in violation of section 3(i) of All India Services (Conduct) Rules which asks every member of the Services shall at all times maintain absolute integrity and devotion to duty and shall do nothing which is unbecoming of a member of the service.

The state government “warns you” that in future there should be no violation of laid down norms and protocol, the letter said.

The officer was supposed to be dressed in ‘Bandhgala’ while receiving the Prime Minister as he was representing the state government in the district.

Officer gets warning for wearing sunglasses while meeting PM.

THE INDIAN CIVIL SERVANTS, LIKE THE IAS OFFICERS, ARE NOT PRESCRIBED ANY UNIFORM. THE DRESS WORN BY THE OFFICER WAS DECENT DRESS. AS SUCH THE WARNING IS ILLEGAL. THE “BANDHGALA” IS NOT A PRESCRIBED UNIFORM.

THE OFFICER IS NOT AT FAULT! THE WARNING GIVEN IS BASELESS.

Mr. Pai, this silly news is causing nausea to the readers. Mr. Modi has to enact a law very urgently, how the IAS-IFS and IPS officers-politicians of his party and the opposition party will have to stand in front of him, what kind of clothing to wear, how to walk forward and backward. Before the reformation undertaken by Martin Luther, even the British royalty had to kneel down and crawl on the knees before the Pope to get his blessing and had to crawl backward on the knees. Is India shifting backward to the 16th century? Louise 14th of France… Read more »

Mr. A.S. Mathew, You have to realise that most people who opt for senior civil services careers knowing very well that they have to keep their professional and political masters happy. They are ready to do anything, because they have taken up these careers not for doing good to or serving the people, but because, by compromising themselves, they can enrich their seniors, enrich themselves and taste unlimited powers and enjoy privileges by bullying the common masses and amassing wealth beyond their known sources of income. Just tell me what services do most IAS, IPS, IRS and other bureaucrats do… Read more »

The IAS officer didn’t wear a lady’s cloth. Wearing a blue colored shirt, does it violate the integrity? He must be wearing an eye glass which will change color based on the light. It will be clearer inside the rooms and automatically change the color to darkness in the Sunlight.

Archana

Unless there is a medical reason, only elite village bumpkins wear sunglasses when they are in front of others. It is bad manners to not make eye contact with another person and hide behind the blinders.

A.S. Mathew

If I am wearing a transition glass, the glass will be getting darker in the Sun light. Do I need to take off the glass to meet the Prime Minister face to face?

Mangal

Archana mentions that only the elite village bumpkins wear sunglasses when they are in front of others.

That is an odd comment. Because on his Chinese visit the globetrotter was seen wearing sunglasses when with many Chinese dignitaries none of whom wore sunglasses. (Check out the Indian newspaper press releases by the globetrotter, especially when visiting the terracotta soldier site – which is actually indoors).

Does that make the globetrotter an elite village bumpkin? Perhaps that is what you meant.

I get offended when my patients wear sunglasses during an assessment. It has happened only once in last 20 years, the patient happened to be a malingerer.

Mr A S Mathew, unakku vele illayaa? Chumma time waste panna koodadu man. You have so much intolerance for our Prime Minister. When you go to your church this Sunday, ask yourself a question. Are you not hating him because he is A Hindu? Come on. Admit it la.

drona : “Officer gets warning for wearing sunglasses while meeting PM.” – REACTION.

Dronaachaaryaa feels that Mr A S Mathew hates every Hindu!?

Evidently, according to Dronaachaaryaa any body who is against Narendra Modi is anti Hindu! Is Hindu Religion mortgaged to RSS and Modi?

Dronaachaaryaa challenges Mr A S Mathew to admit it.

THIS NEW EQUATION PROPOUNDED BY HIM MAKES EVERY CHRISTIAN AND MUSLIM TO BE HINDU HATERS!

INDIANS, PLEASE INTROSPECT IF THE HINDUS MUST CONSIDER NON HINDUS AS HINDU HATERS.

Drona, I have been observing that everything is that not well with you and Mr. A.S. Mathew since quite sometime. However, before I proceed further, I wish to state that I am not trying to take sides, but express my views without hurting your or his feelings. As I have great respect for both of you, I have avoided getting into a slinging match or anything of the sort, even when I may not have agreed on your views on different issues. I have a great admiration for you and though I do not know you personally but, over the… Read more »

In addition to Drona’s direct question to AS Mathew, I have a following question. When you go to your church next Sunday, can you please wear sunglasses and a baseball cap? Let’s see what happens.

This is not about Modi. There are certain basic standards one needs to follow. You don’t wear sunglasses indoor. Also, you don’t wear sunglasses while receiving a dignitary.

Pincode Pai and Manga(L) are busy twisting facts to satisfy their own bizarre need to blame Modiji for everything.

B. N. Pai

Original R. Pai asks Mr. A S Mathew, “When you go to your church next Sunday, can you please wear sunglasses and a baseball cap?Let us see what happens.”

Friends, according to Paimaam, going to church is quite akin to going to Modi! However, he forgets that Lord Jesus commanded respect and did not demand respect, as done by Modi or RSS or BJP!

To realise such things one must know decency.

Dear readers,

PM Modi has no problem appearing as ‘Singam’ with Terracotta figures. He has no problem wearing ‘Cowboy’ hat in Mongolia or ‘Made in London’ pinstripe suit.

His party coalition partner Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party MLA Lavoo Mamledar has asserted that bikinis are against Indian culture and, if at all, Goa should have private and paid “bikini beaches”. Now Modi is objection wearing ‘sunglasses’.

It is one of the unprecedented move since Modi BJP came to power, where citizens are dictated what to be ate and wear.

Is it Ghar Ghar Modi or ‘Kiriki Kirki Modi?
