Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Hit by Auto-Rickshaw in Thokkottu
Ullal: A 62-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured after an auto-rickshaw hit him while he was crossing the road near the Thokkottu auto-rickshaw stand on Tuesday morning. The impact caused the auto-rickshaw to overturn in the middle of the road.
The injured pedestrian has been identified as Chandrashekar (62), a resident of Kapikad. He was shifted to a private hospital in Deralakatte, where he is undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The accident occurred when Chandrashekar was crossing the road after purchasing milk from the Nandini Milk shop in Thokkottu. The auto-rickshaw, which was travelling from Thokkottu towards Kuthar, hit him. The driver subsequently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.
Personnel from the Mangaluru South Traffic Police Station rushed to the spot and conducted an inspection.
