People will teach a lesson to Congress in LS Polls if it Objects to the ordinance on Ram Temple – Pejawar Swamiji

Udupi: “If the Congress party opposes bringing the ordinance in the parliament to built Ram Temple in Ayodhya, surely the people will teach a lesson in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections”, said Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math.

He was speaking after participating in a programme in Udupi on November 23. Since an early court judgment for the construction of Ram Mandir is not possible, the central government should instead issue an ordinance on it.

“The Supreme Court has adjourned an appeal to January in this connection. Therefore, the union government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi should issue an ordinance and get its approval from both the Houses. It is also the opinion of all the Swamijis,” said Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math.

There are three options to address the problem of the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The issue of construction of the Ram Mandir can be resolved by calling a joint parliament session or taking a decision in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. Earlier when Vajpayee was the Prime Minister, he could not have built the Ram Temple because he lacked the majority, but now that the Modi-led government has the majority, it is necessary to cooperate for the construction of the Ram Temple through the ordinance, he said.

Swamiji further said, “As the Lok Sabha elections are near, the opposition will not oppose the Ram Temple and it has no courage to do so. The Congress party watching the situation silently and now is the convenient time for the construction of the Temple. There is an allegation on me that that I had provoked in the demolition of the Babri Masjid but the reality is different. I had never said to demolish the Babri Masjid and also never provoked anyone but some people are purposely targeting me in this issue”.

Swamiji also said, “We never expected that such an incident would happen. On December 5, 1992, all of us held a meeting and never discussed the demolition of the Mosque but had discussed cleaning the area. The same information was also conveyed to the then Prime Minister in writing. The next day when the Karsevaks started to clean the place some people started to pelt stones from the structure. Aggravated by it, and disappointed with the leaders the karsevaks vented their anger and went on to destroy the structure. I wanted to convince the people who had gathered at the structure but the soldiers did not allow me to go near the place”, he said.

Pejawar Swamiji felicitated the activists who worked as Karsevaks in Ayodhya on the occasion.

RSS leader Someshekar Bhat, Hindu Organization leaders Dinesh Mendon, Sunil K R, Pramod Shetty, Bhagyashree Aithal and others were present.
