Police Commissionerate Holds Armoury and Vehicles (Ayudha) Puja

Mangaluru: The Hindu fraternity today celebrates the 9th day of Navaratri. Being an integral part, on this day, devotees bless their vehicles, equipment and tools thus celebrating Ayudha Puja or Astra Puja.

On October 7, the police department performed Ayudha Puja to worship all the instruments used by them for the enforcement of law and order from the armoury to vehicles.

Police Commissioner Dr Harsha, DCP Law and Order Arungshu, DCP Crime and Traffic Lakshmi Ganesh, SP Laxmi Prasad, ACP Murugesh Upase and other police personnel took part in the Puja.

At the DAR office, the police personnel cleaned the vehicles, tools and equipment and placed them in a particular place. They decorated the implements with flowers and prayed for the safety of all human beings using them.

The religious priests performed Puja after which sweets were distributed to all.
