Police Rescue 25 cattle on way to Slaughter House, 2 PC’s Injured
Kundapur: Acting on a tip off, the Kundapur Rural police rescued 25 cattle that were being transported to slaughter houses at Kandloor near Kundapur on Tuesday October 17. However, 10 of the cattle died of asphyxiation, it is said
According to the police, while they were checking the vehicles, they received a tip-off of cattle being transported in a vehicle. Upon seeing the police, the accused without stopping the vehicle fled. The police then managed to stop the vehicle at Gulwadi Bridge. The accused abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. The vehicle and the cattle were later brought to the police station. The mouth and legs of the animals were tied with ropes. 10 cows had died due to asphyxiation.
Two constables Prashanth Naganna and Ashok were injured during the rescue operation. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Kundapur.
Kundapur Rural Police have registered a case.
