Puttur: College Student Dies After Collapsing During Gym Workout
Puttur: A college student died after collapsing while working out at a gym on Saturday afternoon, September 5.
The deceased has been identified as Shamik Rai (20), son of Ramesh Rai and Yashodha, residents of Kunjurupanja in Aryapu village.
Shamik, described as a talented student, was pursuing his undergraduate studies at a private college in Puttur and was also preparing for the Chartered Accountancy (CA) examination.
He had been regularly attending the gym for some time. As usual, he went to the gym on Saturday, where he suddenly collapsed while working out. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Puttur, but was reportedly declared dead.
The Puttur Government Hospital conducted a post-mortem examination. The Puttur Town Police have registered a case and are investigating.
Shamik is survived by his parents, a sister, and other relatives.
