Reckless Driving, Car Hits 2 persons, Auto, Bike and Signboard
Mangaluru: In a case of reckless driving two persons were injured and two vehicles and a sign board were damaged near Yenepoya Mall, on Kadri Pumpwell road here on September 23.
The injured have been identified as Santhosh (35), from Kinnigoli and Srinivas (28) from Beltangady, both employees of Prax fast food at the Yenepoya Mall.
Speaking to mangalorean.com the owner of the fast food outlet said, “At around 10.15 PM, after cleaning the shop, both Santhosh and Srinivas were standing outside the shop. A Baleno car with registration number KA 19 MF 7699, came at a rocket speed, hit both my staff and then hit the parked auto, motorbike and the huge signboard before it came to a halt.
Another eyewitness said, “As soon as the accident took place we informed the police as well as the ambulance. When the ambulance arrived, the three occupants of the car got out from the car and got into the ambulance. We have shifted the injured to the hospital with severe injuries.
The locals said that reckless driving by the car driver caused the accident. In the night most of the youth drive at a high speed which leads to accidents. The police should take stern action against those who violate the law and put the life of innocent people at risk. An autorickshaw, motorbike, and a signboard have been totally damaged in the incident.
One of the residents of the area Rajesh said, “Six months ago a similar incident took place. A Bolero had crashed into four electric poles on the same road. During the night we see vehicles running at a high speed which poses a danger to the pedestrians and other road users. The concerned authorities should install speed breakers on this road to avoid such incidents. This is the second incident in six months. Those who drive vehicles in the night especially youngsters, they do not care about others. Today these two innocent men who were standing outside to go to their room after finishing their work in the fast food outlet. The occupants of the car were lucky to have suffered only minor injuries because of the airbags. If this would have happened in the day time, many people, especially school children would have injured. This is the right time for the concerned authorities to get into action and put a stop to reckless driving in the city”.
Kadri police have reached the spot and are investigating.

Any one observed in this news. The drivers name is not mentioned. It may be drink and drive case or may be driving without license. By this time the FIR might have been edited with with substitute valid licence holder.

No names of the driver or occupants of the car mentioned in the report. All indications of hushing up of the matter. Great work by Police and media people for cooperating with the rash driver.
