Renault Triber Turbo petrol launch delayed in India

The Renault Triber was supposed to get launched in 2020 but due to some reasons, the launch of this SUV has been postponed. Now it is expected that this super-stylish SUV will be introduced in the market in the year 2021 along with the launch of the Kiger compact SUV. According to the sources, the reason for this delay is because of the brand new engine that was disclosed last year. The media reports say that Renault was keen to launch their new engine in a new model i.e. Kiger and they completely rejected the idea of introducing it with an already existing model. If you view it from a marketing perspective, this is a good strategy that the company has thought of. In a nutshell,

  • Triber turbo-petrol will be launched along with the Kiger compact SUV in 2021.
  • As per the automakers, from the standpoint of marketing, this all-new brand engine should be positioned as the Kigers engine.

Reasons for delay in the launch of Renault Tribe:

In a Major news development, it was believed that Renault Cars Company will be launching Renault Triber on Diwali or maybe at the end of this year. Triber is one of the most successful launches in the Indian Automobile segment because the carmakers were able to increase their market share in 2020 by 0.7%.

It is believed that the main reason for the delay is because the company wants to focus mainly on Kiger- which is the subcompact SUV. According to the company strategy, Renault is all set to launch its new brand engine along with a new model and not with the existing ones.

Now the question is. What is this new engine all about? Well! This new brand engine has been sourced from Nissan, which is the alliance partner. The codename of this new turbo petrol unit is HR10 and will be used in the Nissan Kicks and Duster. The Triber, at present, is provided with a petrol engine of 1 liter along with a 5 speed AMT.

Expected launch of Renault Triber

As mentioned above, this model will be launched along with the subcompact SUV Kigers in 2021. Triber has brought a lot of success to Renault in the Indian market. The company has been able to increase its market share in 2020 than what it was in the year 2019. Because of this success, this company is enthusiastic about its new introductions in the market. Besides this, the company is also trying to reach out to a larger market and for this; several new service centers and dealerships have been opened in different parts of the country.

If you compare Triber with the other models like Mahindra XUV 500 or Tata Harrier, you’ll find that there that features offered by Renault surpass the other models. You can expect features like keyless entry, LED DRLs, and Android or Apple supported the Infotainment system. There’s good news for all those looking forward to buying a good priced car. This SUV will be available from the price range between Rs5.5 Lakh to Rs10 lakh in the old showrooms.
