Most of the details were on hand but the full address of the victim was not available. Hence the body had been kept in the mortuary of the Victoria hospital.

His name was mentioned as K S Seetaram. The report gave maximum details like his parents’ names – Shivanna and Honnamma – and the mobile number that he was using. When the details came to the attention of his relatives, his brother from Kevala in Kuntur village in the taluk went to Bengaluru and claimed the body. His final rites were held at his native place.

Enquiries revealed that he had left the house without information 20 years ago. A complaint to the police too had been filed that time. Five years later, all of a sudden, he landed at home and informed others that he was working in Mysuru.

Staying only for a day, he left again and was missing for the last 15 years. Since he was not in touch with home, he could not be informed when his father and mother died one after the other. Possibly he would not have known about it until his death.

His acquaintances in Bengaluru have said that in Bengaluru he worked in a restaurant during daytime and as a housekeeping supervisor in the metro in the night. The mishap took place while he was riding from one place to the other.

The vast reach of the media has once again been proved.
