Rowdy-Sheeter Among Two Arrested for Creating Ruckus with Machete at Bar in Ullal
Mangaluru: Ullal police arrested two men, including a rowdy-sheeter, for allegedly creating panic and threatening the public while brandishing a machete near a bar in Thokkottu late on Sunday night.
The arrested individuals are Mohammed Shakir, 31, a resident of Margathale in Ullal, and Ashwaq, 28, a resident of Manchila. Police said Shakir works as a welder, while Ashwaq works as an autorickshaw driver. Authorities also noted that a case has already been registered against Ashwaq.
According to police, the incident occurred around 12.15 a.m. on Sunday when the two men, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, were seen roaming near a bar in Thokkottu with a machete. They reportedly created a disturbance and threatened the public, causing fear in the area.
Following the information about the incident, Ullal police launched an operation and detained both men. A case has been registered against them under the Arms Act and other relevant provisions for allegedly carrying a deadly weapon in public and issuing threats.
Further investigation is underway.
