Sahakari Ratna Award to be conferred on Amarnath Shetty During 63rd AICW

Mangaluru: “To mark the 63rd All India Co-operative week, a district-level programme will be held at the Football grounds on November 18. A rally “Samudayadatta Sahakara Jatha” will be flagged off from SCDCC main branch which will culminate at the Nehru Maidan football grounds. On this occasion, former minister Amarnath Shetty will be conferred with “Sahakari Ratna Award”, said the president of SCDCC bank Dr M N Rajendra Kumar in a press meet held at the Nehru Maidan here on November 17.

Addressing the mediapersons Dr Rajendra said, “The programme will be inaugurated by the Minister for Co-operation and Sugar in Government of Karnataka Halahalli Shreekantha Shetti Mahadeva Prasad. District minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai will hoist the flag. Minister for food and Civil Supplies U T Khader will release the special edition of the Co-operative bulletin. Minister for fisheries, sports and youth affairs, Pramod Madhwaraj will confer the awards to the achievers. President of Karnataka State Co-Operative Society Shekhar Gowda V Mali Patil will preside.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA J R Lobo, MLA Moideen Bava, Chief Whip of Karnataka Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza, ZP President Meenakshi Shanthigodu, Mayor Harinath, Halappa Basappa Achar, G P Patil, S I Patil, Krishnayya, Raviraj Hegde Kodavoor, Harish Acharya and Kishan Hegde Kolkebail will be the guests.

Police commissioner Chandra Sekhar, SP Bhushan Borase, M K Ayyappa, Maheshwar Rao, H V Nagaraj, S L Bhojegowda, Manumuttappa A K, Chandrashekar S and Dasayya will be the guests of honour. More than 6000 people are expected to attend the programme.
