Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management Forges Consultancy MoU with CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru

Mangaluru: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru, is poised to enter a strategic academic collaboration with CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, through a Consultancy Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The signing ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, April 25th, 2026, at the Sahyadri Campus in Adyar, Mangalore.

CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, is a distinguished institution renowned for its academic rigor, commitment to value-based education, and robust industry engagement across various disciplines. The university, along with its CHRIST Incubation and Consultancy Foundation (CICF), has consistently demonstrated leadership in higher education.

The MoU will center on developing and enhancing Sahyadri College’s new programs for the 2026-27 academic year, including BBA, BCA, and MCA. The partnership is intended to benefit the student community of the coastal region.

Notably, CHRIST University’s Department of Computer Science and Statistics holds the No. 1 rank, while its BBA program, under the School of Business and Management, is ranked No. 2 in India, according to India Today rankings. The institution is esteemed for its comprehensive curriculum design, research orientation, and emphasis on holistic student development.

The MoU signifies the culmination of productive dialogues and detailed discussions between the two institutions, establishing a firm foundation for a meaningful and enduring academic partnership.

Key representatives from both institutions will attend the signing ceremony. Dr. S. S. Injaganeri, Principal, and Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director- MBA Program, along with senior management and academic leaders, will represent Sahyadri College. Representing Christ University will be Dr. Anil Pinto, Registrar; Dr. Shrinivas K, Head-School of Business and Management; Dr. Vinay M, Head-Department of Computer Science, Statistics and Data Science, and Dr. D. Sandhya, Program Coordinator from the Yeshwanthpur Campus, Bangalore.

The collaboration will prioritize developing an industry-aligned, NEP 2020-compliant curriculum that integrates emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing for the BCA Program. The BBA program will incorporate Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Retailing, Finance, Marketing, and HR.

Furthermore, the MoU will concentrate on strengthening faculty competencies through structured training, workshops, and mentoring initiatives. It will also enhance student learning through experiential and project-based learning approaches, including hackathons, coding bootcamps, and academic immersion programs.

The collaboration will extend to institutional quality enhancement through Outcome-Based Education (OBE), accreditation readiness (NAAC, NBA), and academic governance practices. Moreover, the MoU will facilitate collaborative research, industry partnerships, faculty and student exchange opportunities, while enabling an ICT-enabled learning environment, virtual labs, and digital infrastructure development.

In addition to the MoU, Sahyadri College has introduced two new programs effective from the 2026-27 academic year: Electronics & Computer Engineering (UG) and M.Tech in VLSI Design & Embedded System. The intake for the MBA Program has also been increased from 180 to 240 students.

The MoU with Christ University is expected to strengthen faculty and student development and yield mutual benefits for both institutions.
