Scooter Rider Killed After Car Collision Near Mulki Bus Stand
Mulki: A fatal road accident near the Mulki Bus Stand on Sunday claimed the life of a 26-year-old scooter rider, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The deceased has been identified as Shashikumar (26), a resident of Kakkuva, who was reportedly crossing the national highway on his scooter when the accident took place. According to reports, a car travelling from Mangaluru towards Udupi collided with the two-wheeler in a violent impact.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that the force of the collision was so severe that the car dragged the scooter some distance after the crash. Shashikumar sustained critical injuries, particularly to his head and legs, leaving him in a highly precarious condition.
Soon after the accident, local residents rushed to assist him and arranged for him to be taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Despite the immediate response and medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Shashikumar was employed as a painter. His untimely death has left family members and acquaintances grief-stricken.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
