Sharath Madival murder case, HHS to Hold Hunger Strike on Aug 8

Mangaluru: “After one month of the murder of RSS worker Sharath Madival, the police have still failed to arrest the accused. It is the failure of the state government as well as the state home ministry. Even in the attempt to murder cases of Pavan Raj at Melkar and Chiranjeev from Kuttar the police have failed to arrest the accused. In the Jalil Karopady murder and Ashraf Kalayi murder case the Congress party showed special interest to arrest the accused but why there is a delay in arresting the accused in Sharath Madival murder case”, questioned former MLC Monappa Bhandary in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on August 5.

Addressing the mediapersons Monappa Bhandary said, “There was a minor group clash in Kalladka but it was given a communal colour. The Congress leaders are playing vote bank politics pleasing one particular community. The District Minister In-charge had visited the house of Sharath Madival and assured of giving justice to the family but after he returned from Sharath’s house he has forgotten his assurance. Congress leaders not showing the same interest they showed during Ashraf Kalayi and Jalil Karopady murder case to trace the accused in Sharath Madival’s murder case during Ashraf Kalayi and Jalil Karopady murder case.”

Monappa Bhandary further said, “Sharath was an innocent youth who was also a social activist. One month ago he was murdered but the police department is unable to arrest the accused. Since the Home Ministry is managed by the Chief Minister, the government has failed to give justice to Sharath’s family. On August 8, from10:00 am to 4:00 pm we will hold a hunger strike in front of the DC office demanding the arrest of the accused in Sharath’s murder. On August 8 we will hold a similar protest at the Moodbidri Bus-stand, Beltangady, Sullia, Puttur and Bantwal Taluk. In the coming days, if the accused will not be arrested we will hold protests throughout the district.

President VHP Jagadish Shenava, Bhujanga Kulal and BJP Yuva Morcha leader Sandesh Shetty were also present.
