Siddaramaiah slams Shobha in singular

Mysuru: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday slammed BJP MP Shoba Karandlaje, who had recently said “Siddaramaiah is like a snake without fangs”.

Speaking to reporters here, Siddaramaiah mentioned Shobha in the singular and said she had no moral right to speak about him. Shobha had made the remarks against Siddaramaiah during the byelection campaign in Jamkhandi recently. “Has the BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa or Shobha kept the voters in their pockets. BJP leaders should shed this attitude,” he said.

Siddaramaiah said the JD(S)-Congress coalition government was stable and that the BJP was under the illusion that they would come to power. The JD(S)-Congress candidates for the byelections in five constituencies — three Lok Sabha and two Assembly – will win, he said.

Besides campaigning for the Congress candidates, he would also campaign for JD(S) candidates Madhu Bangarappa contesting from Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency and L R Shivaramegowda from Mandya Lok Sabha segment, Siddaramaiah said.

While JD(S) has fielded candidates from Shivamogga, Mandya and Ramnagara Assembly segment, Congress has fielded candidates from Ballari Lok Sabha and Jamakhandi Assembly constituencies.

On the allegations of Congress leaders, including MLA Tanveer Sait, that they were neglected during Dasara, he said it’s a closed chapter.
