Kolkata, Oct 13 (IANS) At least 120 healthcare professionals from West Bengal are being trained by experts from Singapore to strengthen the critical care segment of the state’s public health care system.

The training programme spans hospitals and medical colleges in West Bengal and institutions under Singapore’s national health services.

“This training programme is meant for doctors and nurses and is being implemented in accordance with the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the Singapore government at the Global Bengal Business Summit in January earlier this year,” said Malay Kumar De, principal secretary of West Bengal’s health and family welfare department, on Tuesday.

He said the training has already started and will continue over the next few months in hospitals of Singapore. “This will boost the critical care system in the state.”
