Someshwar Area Sealed Down After 38-year-old woman Tested Positive for COVID-19

Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Roopesh using her power as delegated chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority under National Disaster Management Act (NDMA) 2005 by G.O. No. RD 157 TNR 2020 and in the exercise of the powers conferred under section 26, 30 and 34 of N DMA 2005, issued under epidemic disease act 1987 by the state government has declared the Specific area of Pilar, Someshwar Village, Mangaluru Taluk as shown in the sketch) as an Active Containment Zone for COVID – 19 patient number 947.

The containment area bound by the following boundaries:

No of residential houses = 95 (Ninety-Five)
No of Shops / Offices = 10 (Ten) [Commercial Shops – 9 + Office – 1)
Total Population = 430 (Four Hundred and Thirty)

Further, Buffer Zone will be an area of 5 km around this containment zone bound by:

No of residential houses = 21,390 (Twenty One Thousand Three Hundred and Ninety)
No of Shops / Offices = 5,211 (Five Thousand Two Hundred and Eleven) [Commercial Shops- 5187 + Offices 24)
Total Population = 1,03,098 (One Lakh Three Thousand and Ninety-Eight)

The rough sketch of both Containment and Buffer Zone is attached with this notification.

For effective implementation of COVID – 19 virus control measures, Tahsildar and Taluk Magistrate, Mangaluru Taluk is appointed as the Incident Commander who will be overall in-charge of Containment Zone. The Incident Commander will take necessary actions as specified in containment zone notification referred above.
